I have 30 years of experience treating Acute and Complex PTSD and Anxiety Disorders. I am both Certified and a Consultant in EMDR. My background includes extensive years of training in CBT, DBT and group work. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS) in all my work. I have also worked in a multitude of varied settings treating diverse populations. I welcome and respect diversity in all my clients. Developing a trusting therapeutic relationship is the most important goal in treatment with both individuals and couples. I am a Certified Emotionally Focused Couple Therapist and have assisted many couples find a safe and fulfilling connection in their lives.

Lawrence Shweky, MA, LCSW, has over 30 years of experience as a therapist, supervisor and educator. Lawrence is the founder and director of EMERGE, an adolescent and family counseling center in Davis. Lawrence was a leader in the early implementation of school-based mental health services and worked for ten years at the Sacramento City Unified School District where he oversaw student and family support services for the entire district. Lawrence has a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University and a Master’s degree in Education from San Francisco State University. As a Syrian-American and first-generation college student, Lawrence is committed to expanding the quality, range and accessibility of services for young people and other marginalized populations.

Dr. Teresa Hooker, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified Dancing Mindfulness facilitator based in Davis, California. She works with individuals who seek deeper healing, meaning, and connection—within themselves and in their relationships and communities. Teresa’s approach is trauma-informed, somatically grounded, and rooted in depth psychology, blending body awareness, relational presence, and spiritual exploration. She believes that healing unfolds through compassionate attention to the body and psyche, and through reclaiming one’s authentic voice, vitality, and sense of belonging in the world.

As a mixed-race, gender-creative, and queer therapist, amber is deeply committed to providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care. With a passion for supporting young folx as well as queer, trans, and BIPOC communities, amber provides a compassionate, nonjudgemental container to explore identity, embodiment, emotional challenges, and personal growth. amber has a Master of Arts in Somatic Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies and completed their traineeship at the Center for Somatic Psychology in San Francisco. amber’s therapeutic approach is relational, consent-based, and somatic. By incorporating frameworks from liberation-based, somatic, and transpersonal psychologies, amber helps clients (re)connect with their authenticity, sovereignty, and personal agency.
