Tawny Chestnut, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Tawny Chestnut is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a strong background in school-based mental health, shaped in part by being raised by a dedicated public school teacher. She understands the unique pressures educators and their families face, both professionally and personally.
Tawny spent over five years as a K–8 school counselor, where she provided individual and group counseling, IEP-related mental health services, crisis support, and social-emotional learning instruction. She worked closely with teachers, administrators, and caregivers to support student growth and emotional well-being.
Her clinical work has focused on supporting children, parents, couples, and families through a relational and trauma-informed lens. She is trained in Brainspotting, a mindfulness-based therapy that uses visual focus to help clients of all ages process unresolved trauma and emotional stress.
Guided by empathy and a respect for each person’s story, her work helps others reconnect with their sense of safety, strength, and inherent value.
